Firearm Safety Gathering
April 26 @ 1:00 pm
A few of us (myself included!) have been interested in learning how to use firearms. One of our member’s husbands is passionate about firearm safety and introducing people to the shooting sports. If there’s enough interest, he’d love to host a gathering to teach basic firearm safety.
The plan would include:
🔹 30-40 min intro discussion on firearm safety
🔹 1.5-2 hours of shooting practice
🔹 Post-event drinks at Lord Hobo
About Our Instructor:
Mike has been a certified firearms instructor since 1998 and recently retired from teaching at the Massachusetts Rifle Association, where he’s still a member. Fun fact: The Massachusetts Rifle Association, founded in 1875, is the oldest active gun club in the U.S.
The club has trained many Olympians, including Ada Korkhin, who competed last year in Paris! Learn more about her here.
Mike is happy to volunteer his time and materials to run this course. If there’s enough interest, he can also teach a basic firearms safety course that currently meets the requirements for applying for a Massachusetts gun license. Participants would only need to cover the cost of the certificate, which should be around $15-$20.
