Zone of Interest Movie and Debrief

We’re excited to kick off our first viewing with “Zone of Interest.” This movie is excellent but quite heavy in its themes. Some of our gatherings will take place on a Facebook chat, while others will be in person over drinks for a more interactive discussion. “Zone of Interest” delves into the concept of the banality of evil. It portrays a family living their lives in a comfortable setting while the horrors of Auschwitz are unfolding. One character knows about the atrocities but supports them for personal gain, highlighting how people can compartmentalize such evil. It’s a thought-provoking exploration of how individuals cope with or ignore the reality of heinous acts happening around them.
