Hi! I’m Lupita, and I’m so glad you’re here.

Twelve years ago, I moved from the sunny beaches of San Diego, CA, to Boston with my husband. It was an exciting new chapter for us, but also a challenging one. We didn’t have any family or friends in the area, and I found myself searching for ways to build meaningful connections in this new place.

Working from home and traveling for my career made it even harder—without the natural social opportunities that come with an office environment, I had to try meet-ups and clubs that didn’t always pan out. Nothing seemed to fit. It wasn’t until I had my daughter, two years after the move, that I finally found a group of mothers who understood me. While we all wanted to connect, our schedules never seemed to line up. That was just the beginning of what I’ve learned about making and nurturing friendships over the years.

Then, when COVID hit, I started hearing the same things from others—people feeling isolated, working from home, their friendships shifting. It felt familiar to me because I had already experienced that loneliness when I first moved. I knew that more than ever, we needed spaces to connect and grow together.

That’s when Made In Gathering was born. What started as local online meet-ups in our small town of Melrose, MA, quickly grew into backyard gatherings, and has evolved into the beautiful community we have today. This space is about creating genuine, lasting connections—because no one should feel alone on this journey.
